The Vespa scooter is an iconic piece of personal transport. It celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. Naza Premira, official distributor of Vespa in Malaysia is celebrating in a big way. Vespa owners (or those Vespa riders who participate) will actually make their way from Naza World in Petaling Jaya and make their way to the mall. Participation fees are RM50 per rider or RM100 for a rider/pillion combo.
Vespa 70th Anniversary – “The Largest Vespa Gathering”
In line with Vespa's 70th Anniversary this year, Naza Premira Sdn. Bhd., the official distributor of
Vespa vehicles in Malaysia, is celebrating this milestone with a big carnival, dubbed as the “Largest
Vespa Gathering”.
The gathering will take over the entire Square and Boulevard area of Publika Shopping Gallery,
Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday, 19th November 2016, from 11am to 9.30pm.
To commemorate the brand's extensive heritage, the Boulevard area of Publika will see various
classic Vespas on display, each with its own decorated backdrop to depict its lustrious past, as well
as one with a Malaysian 'kopitiam' inspired photowall to tie in the popular brand to our local Vespa
history.
The "Largest Vespa Convoy” is also planned for the celebration. The convoy will be flagged off
from Naza Automall and will make its way through interesting parts of Kuala Lumpur before
ending at Publika. It is estimated that about 500 Vespas will be participating in the ride. Riders and
pillions, upon registration confirmation, will receive limited edition Vespa 70th Anniversary
merchandise that are not sold anywhere else.
Convoy participants will be given ample parking space nearby the Square open-air area of Publika
where Vespa will have on display three units of its 70th Anniversary models: The Vespa GTS,
Vespa PX and Vespa Primavera; two units of their updated 2016 models: Vespa Sprint ABS and
Vespa Primavera ABS; and the recently introduced Vespa Sprint Adventure variant.
The Square area, which has all the new bikes on display, will also be the main focal point with
various entertainment performances from top local artistes: Amy Search, Maha Jefry and Tasha
Aleia; plus celebrity appearances by Joey G and Nabila Huda.
Food stalls and family-oriented activities including face painting, air-brush tattoo and carnival
games will also be available to ensure that the whole family will have things to do and activities to
enjoy.
The list of goodies goes even longer as there will be a Lucky Draw contest, offering the Vespa S125
as the grand prize and other great prizes such as a Vespa Leather Jacket, Vespa Windbreaker, Vespa
Vespa owners, Vespa fans and those who want to know about what Vespa lifestyle is all about, are
invited to come and join in on Vespa's 70th Anniversary celebration. In fact, the event is open to the
members of the public from all walks of life.
It is, after all, the “Largest Vespa Gathering”.
