ALL-NEW HYUNDAI ELANTRA NOW OPEN FOR HARI RAYA BOOKING - Official Launch sometime at the end of June

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has opened its order books for the long awaited, all-new sixth generation Hyundai Elantra ahead of the launch, which is scheduled sometime in June this year. Prices starts at RM120,000 onwards.


The all-new Elantra is available in 3 variants - two normally aspirated 2.0liter varants and a top of the range 1.6liter turbocharged model (photo above) with all the bells and whistles. RM135,000 for the 1.6 Turbo Sport variant, RM120,000 for the 2.0 MPI Executive and RM125,000 for the 2.0 MPI Dynamic variant (pictured below). 

Powering the Elantra 2.0L MPI Executive and 2.0L MPI Dynamic is a Nu 2.0L MPI 4-cyliner engine, which delivers 152 PS at 6,200 rpm and 192Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Decent numbers for a C-segment 2.0liter car tuned for efficiency in mind. These will most likely be paired with a 6 speed automatic gearbox.

The Elantra 1.6L Turbo Sport is powered by the Gamma 1.6 Turbo GDI (T-GDI) four-cylinder engine that generates 204 PS at 6,000 rpm and 265Nm of torque at 1,500-4,500 rpm. Power will be channeled to the front wheels via a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox.

will have the car delivered to them before the Hari Raya.

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has opened its order books for the all-new Elantra ahead of

the launch, which is scheduled sometime in June this year. The all-new Elantra is available in 3

variants i.e the 1.6 Turbo Sport, 2.0 MPI Dynamic and 2.0 MPI Executive with an estimated price of

RM135,000 for the 1.6 Turbo Sport variant, RM120,000 for the 2.0 MPI Executive and RM125,000

for the 2.0 MPI Dynamic variant.

Among the highlights of the all-new Elantra include a brand new design that is based on the new

Fluidic 2.0 Design concept, new powerful powertrains, Advanced High-strength Steel, Emergency

Fastening Device, Hands-free Smart Trunk and more exciting features, which will be unveiled at

the launch.

In the US, the all-new Elantra was awarded the 2016 International Design Award (IDEA®) in the

Automotive & Transportation 2016 category for its outstanding and unique design. It was among

the 1,700 design projects from more than 30 countries that vied for the award. IDEA® is a premier

international design competition that recognises and promotes design excellence across a wide

array of industries and disciplines that is conducted annually by the Industrial Designers Society of

America (IDSA).

The all-new Elantra also won the iF Design Award 2016 for “Product” discipline, under the

“Automobiles/ Vehicles/ Bikes” category. For more than 60 years, iF Design Awards have been

recognized across the world as a symbol of design excellence. Organized by iF International

Forum Design GmbH, the award recognises outstanding design across various disciplines and

categories.

Leading independent vehicle safety advocate, the Australasian New Car Assessment Program

(ANCAP), has also awarded 5 star ANCAP safety ratings to the new Hyundai Elantra. With an

overall score of 35.01 out of a possible 37 points, the Elantra scored full marks in a number of

areas including side-impact crash testing (16 out of 16), as well as pole-impact testing (2 out of 2).
