PERODUA BEZZA 1.0L NOW EXPORTED TO SRI LANKA - Priced at 3.69m Sri Lankan Rupees

The Perodua Bezza 1.0L (Automatic) has been launched in Sri Lanka. The launch, which was organised by Perodua's official distributor Unimo Enterprises Ltd was attended by Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh and also graced by the presence of The Malaysia High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah.

Also at the launch event was the mock key presentation to the first Perodua Bezza customers in Sri Lanka who bought 12 Bezza units for their car leasing company.

According to Perodua, Sri Lanka is the largest export market for the Perodua brand has so far seen 14,000 units sold between 1997 (when Perodua first started in Sri Lanka) and 2017 (as at end May). Unimo Enterprises currently imports the Perodua Axia, which sold 1, 400 units last year and now the Bezza is their second model in their line-up. Perodua has to date exported 5 models to Sri Lanka, which are the Perodua Kancil, Kenari, Kelisa, Viva and Bezza.

Unimo also believes that the Bezza will be well accepted in Sri Lanka as this car has all the features that appeals to all; it is spacious, well designed, fuel efficient and versatile. Let's also add reliability to that too.

Now for some bits that would actually surprise readers in Malaysia - The Perodua Bezza 1.0L (automatic transmission) is priced at 3.69 million Sri Lankan Rupees (RM103, 162.29). A standard 1.0G Automatic model costs RM39,300. The car has to face import costs like shipping, handling fees and the usual import taxes. Sri Lanka is also not part of the ASEAN region and it does not have any tax breaks like what we get. So folks, we do have certain things to be thankful about. That being said, a company just bought 12 Bezzas for leasing. That must say something.

Overall, Perodua has exported 1,600 units this year (from January to May 2017) to 6 countries, including to Indonesia under the Daihatsu’s Sirion.
