Perodua Rolls Out the 1,000,000th Myvi

The 1,000,000th Perodua Myvi has rolled off the production line here over the weekend. This makes it the most produced model ever under the Perodua brand to date. The Perodua Myvi was first launched May 2005 and was Malaysia’s number one car model until the end of 2014.

Based on the Daihatsu Boon/Sirion, the Myvi is one of those cars that transcend status here in Malaysia. Now in its second generation, it still continues to be amoung Perodua's top selling models here. In terms of exports, the Myvi was sold in 6 countries since 2006, which include Mauritius, Brunei, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Fiji and Nepal under the Perodua brand.

However, the Myvi’s biggest export market is Indonesia with Daihatsu Sirion badging with nearly 31,000 vehicles sold since the year 2007. In total, Perodua exported 35,400 Myvi/Sirion models since 2006. Perodua has also mentioned that they are now moving towards exporting more of their vehicles in the very near future with more overseas launches of their models soon.

Now when you subtract that small amount (for now), you can see that more than 964,500 Myvi cars have been sold in Malaysia. So, do expect a million Myvis to be sold in Malaysia in the very near future and maybe a 3rd generation Myvi very, very soon as it actually quite overdue - the 1st gen was from 2005 to 2011, the 2nd gen/current one from 2011 to date (2017). This makes it ripe for a generation change. Definitely any time soon by the looks of it.

But right now, Perodua are happy celebrating this fabulous milestone.

One million Perodua Myvi produced it quite an achieve since it only needed 12 years to do so.

Congratulations, Perodua!
