HYUNDAI SIME DARBY MOTORS Now Offer An Upgraded Infotainment System for the Hyundai IONIQ Hybrid - Existing Customers Can Opt To Get The Upgraded System Too

The Malaysian distributors of the Hyundai IONIQ, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has announced that it is now offering an upgraded infotainment unit of the car with a much, much better Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) system. It now enhances the driving (and ownership) experience of the Hyundai Ioniq here.

The new AVN system is based on the Android OS and includes an 8 inch screen with more features. Unlike the previous system which came with the IONIQ, it is now actually suited for this decade instead of something that belonged in something much more in tune with the year 2007. It now includes the usual radio, MP3, Spotify app, Bluetooth, My Hyundai app to place service bookings direct from the car, 24hour road assist direct from the car, Navigation from Waza and Google Maps direct and the usual clock as well as weather widgets that you can expect from an Android based system.

Before & After...

Very timely as the previous infotainment unit which came with the car was very basic especially for the full specced IONIQ HEV Plus. It now makes the car complete. A high tech current generation hybrid vehicle with all the bells and whistles. I remember testing the IONIQ HEV Plus and actually thought that in terms of equipment levels, the basic system was the only thing really lacking inside it. Now, this completes the car in some ways.

The best thing about this upgrade is that it can be retrofitted to existing IONIQ Hybird cars already sold here. IONIQ Hybrid customers can opt for the upgrade by trading in their existing head unit and topping up the difference (which I think should not be that much and quite worth it as the old home screen was pretty plain).

For more information about the AVN system or to place booking for the IONIQ hybrid, customers can head over to the nearest sales outlet or call Hyundai’s Customer
Careline at 1-300- 13-2000.
